Summer to Fall Outfit Inspiration
It’s getting colder!
Ah! Transition weather. When hot Summer evenings turn into chilly nights, and you wake up to morning dew dripping down your windows. Depending on where you live, trips to the beach turn into apple picking. Swimming at the pool turn into indoor forts with the kids. You start to wear oversized sweaters, wool trousers, and socks!
When Fall comes, there can either be massive push-back or a warm welcome. Some people love it when the leaves change colors. As for me, I’m a Summer girl through and through, so I have to mentally brace myself for colder days.
Transitions in general can be challenging. One way I navigate change is through creativity, and for me, that not only means writing, but fashion too! I use my wardrobe as a way to express creativity, because fashion accesses that visual and imaginative part of me that loves piecing things together. Plus, it’s so fun seeing outfits come together like paints on a canvas do!
I honestly wish I could wear shorts and a tank top all year, but when “sweater weather” hits, I look forward to wearing clothes I haven’t worn all Summer. My Summer to Fall transition outfit pictured here, is my way of giving “permission”to Fall to do what it has come to do.
SIMPLE FASHION TIP: Wear something you haven’t worn in a while, in a new way. For example, you can wear a dress or skirt you wore to a wedding with sneakers and a denim vest!
Some of my Fall outfit essentials are high-rise trousers or skirts, knitted tops, and sneakers (Can you tell yet, that I love sneakers?). And, of course, hats! So don’t be surprised if you see me wearing this outfit all Fall!
